All the established stars return to the starting line up. Stu Raper would've seen the whole compliment of players after this game, and we should have a better indication of who will start in Round 1, for the final hit out against Newcastle.

The Sharks youngsters finished the game unscathed and injury-free, in a strong win over Parra in the first trial match in Lismore. Cronulla led 18-6 at the half, through tries to Merritt, Aitken, and Leuluai, but the Eels came back in the 3rd quarter to tie the game at 18-all. However, Cam Ciraldo scored the winning try with 2 minutes remaining to give the young Sharks an impressive win.

Final score:
Cronulla 24
Parramatta 18

Sharks line-up for 1st trial match vs Parramatta:

Sat Feb 5, 7:30pm
Oakes Oval, Lismore

1 David Simmons
2 Nathan Merritt
3 Vince Mellars
4 Ryan McGoldrick
5 Luke Covell
6 Greg Bird
7 Russell Aitken
8 James Stosic
9 Matt Hilder
10 Keith Galloway
11 Phillip Leuluai
12 Reece Williams
13 Daniel Dumas

14 Lafi Manua
15 Luke Harlen
16 Cameron Ciraldo
17 Beau Scott
18 David Hall
19 Rhys Lovegrove
20 Clifford Manua

Stu Raper has picked a young squad, leaving out the likes of Kimmorley, Peach and more. Bird may be the most experienced player at the tender age of 21. There is some raw talent in this line up, and there is speed to burn in the outside backs. The young guys will be pushing for a first grade spot here, so look for big games from Stosic, Leuluai and the Manua boys.

The Parra squad looks like this:

Wade McKinnon, Ash Graham, Luke Burt, Daniel Wagon, Eric Grothe, John Morris, PJ Marsh; Adam Peek, Mark Riddell, Aaron Cannings, Nathan Cayless, Josh Cordoba, Dean Widders.
Inter: Tim Smith, Timana Tahu, Ian Henderson, Paul Stringer, Henry Perenara, Michael Vella, Glenn Morrison.
